Internship Expirience #1



I did my internship at Pukuvuokraamo kostyymi for 2 months. When i first got there my employer assigned me to help Hanna Kaitila (former salpaus student) with her winter show that was held in December. She was in charge of all the costumes that the actresses and actors were wearing. So i was there as her assistant. I helped her with all types of work. I did a big part of the work by hand but also did some with the sewing machine. I sure did learn a lot of new things from her, like how to sew by hand the correct way etc. Once i was done with all the work from Hanna, i go to the racks of clothing in the store and take clothing that need to be fixed, and go back to my little working space and fix them up. I also help my Päivi (my employer) with some of her things that she needs help with. The other day i helped her sew up 6 table cloths. Regularly i just take a bunch of clothing from the racks and fix them up. The couple of months that i was there i actually learned a lot of new helpful things and think that this whole experience was once in a lifetime. I don't think i see myself potentially working in this sector, but definitely recommend this place. People there were very friendly and willing to help.

Self evaluation for Social Media Opportunities for Work and Leisure

Since taking this course, I have learned that in this era, social media plays a huge role in human work lives as well as personal lives. Social media is not only a platform for advertising but it is also where people work and get money from. I believe that in the future, more people will work from social media than anyway else. This course has given me a better insight into how the social media world really operates and how we, as consumers, utilize its many platforms, as well as all, understand its rules when it comes to content sharing. Travelling to foreign countries.

Today I have decided to write about travelling. The reason behind this is because i have developed an admiration for visiting and experiencing new countries and their cultures. Ever since a tender age, my parents would take me travelling and show me different kinds of culture every country had and how important it was to be fully aware of each countries culture/tradition before visiting.  Before any kind of travelling, it is important to know what kind of culture/tradition the country has/practices. Going to a foreign country blindly (without any information regarding their culture) may cause some problems/complications for the traveller themselves. One of the most common things that may happen is culture shock. While culture shock usually occurs to travellers that are travelling for a longer period/duration of time, this shock may also happen to short duration travellers. Knowing the countries culture will prepare the traveller which may prevent things as culture shock from happening.
